This presentation takes a historical look at the development of extremism in the U.S. and some of the factors that led to the current trends in extremist behavior. The class will discuss race based extremism, neo-Nazi influences and anti-government movements and how these factors have developed into the modern sovereign citizen movement. The class will also discuss religious based extremism and the influence of foreign terrorism on homegrown violent extremists.
