This biennium's curriculum will include both classroom and practical skills training.
The 2023- 2025 pursuit biennial update will consist of the following components:
Introduction: Review of legislative requirements, curriculum components, and pursuit data reporting.
Vehicle Operations - Officer Survival: Safety belt use, speed management and multitasking, and intersection negotiation.
Pursuit Operations: Pursuit defined, close pursuit, fresh pursuit, pursuit support, EVOC Disturbance Resolution Model, intervention options, pursuit termination factors, agency policy review (pursuit and corresponding Use of Force).
Application and Skills: Practical Driving Skills review, Use of Force Drills, HRVC Post Pursuit Simulations.
