This biennium's curriculum will include both classroom and practical skills training. Time allotted for each component will be based on the number of officers attending, instructor-student ratio, and equipment and track logistics.

The 2025-2027 pursuit biennial update will consist of the following components:
  • Legislative requirements, curriculum components, 2022-2024 pursuit data reporting.
  • Pursuit defined, pursuit support, EVOC Disturbance Resolution Model, intervention options, pursuit termination factors, agency policy review (pursuit and corresponding use of force).
  • Safety belt use, speed management, intersection negotiation, emergency equipment limitations.
  • Wisconsin law enforcement intersection crash data (2020-2024).
  • HRVC - post pursuit process review.
  • Practical exercises based on agency EVOC Intervention options (PIT, Roadblock with Escape set up, Roadblock without Escape set up, Tire Deflation Device readiness and deployment) Evasive and Controlled Brake, Cornering, and HRVC post pursuit simulations.
If local policy prohibits pursuits or limits pursuit methods, officers will learn how they can act in a supporting role for a pursuing agency.
