The purpose of this course is to teach the student the safe procedures for driving fire apparatus (primarily pumping apparatus) to the emergency scene and returning to quarters. Nine standard driving maneuvers will be practiced to demonstrate driving principles. This course provides the driver/operator with the knowledge and information needed to operate a fire pump in a basic mode on the fireground. The course will also train the driver/operator to pump at the correct engine pressures during fireground operations.
