Rifle Instructor

This training program is designed to provide the students with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively instruct a basic patrol rifle program. Students will study weapon nomenclature, rifle maintenance procedures, positional shooting, malfunction drills, accuracy development drills, and weapon transition drills. Students are required to bring their department patrol rifle, 3 magazines, handgun and duty belt, 700 rounds of rifle ammunition, 150 rounds of handgun ammunition, eye and hearing protection, personal body armor, notebook, DOJ Firearms Manual(s) Instructor/Student Texts, their Department Use of Force Policy, Rifle and handgun owners/operating manuals. Pre-requisite:Must be a Certified Firearms Instructor with Training and Standards.

Please read:  For those of you just taking the Rifle Instructor course, you will need you will need the following: your patrol rifle, handgun and duty belt, 3 magazines (both for handgun and rifle), 700 rounds of rifle ammunition, 15 rounds of handgun ammunition, eye and hearing protection, personal body armor, notebook, your Department Use of Force Policy, rifle and handgun owners/operating manuals and DOJ Firearms Manual(s) Instructor/Student Texts. The below link will take you to Wilenet and the DOJ Firearms Manuals. It is your responsibly to print them off or have a laptop to refer to during class. Please review the manuals prior to class. Those of you that are doing the handgun class there will be a test on Monday which is based off of the manuals (the test is not hard and the material is information you have already have had in the academy and in your agency).
