Instructors that are experienced investigators in the field are teaching this 40-hour Death Investigation course in their specific subjects. The specific topics include Interview and Interrogation, Managing Death Scenes, Time of Death- Changes after Death, Fire Deaths, Asphyxia Deaths, Sharp and Blunt Trauma Deaths, Suicide, Child Fatalities, Identification and Collection of Evidence, Firearms Deaths, Formal Investigative Techniques, Autopsies, Legal Update/ Miranda, Defense Attorney Perspectives, Technical Services. The training will include one day of practical exercises. These exercises include outdoor scenes. Students should bring appropriate clothing for the climate. There is a written exam at the conclusion of the school. A flash drive of teaching material will be provided to each student. It is the students responsibility to bring their own laptop computer to view the instruction material as the instructors present it.
