Fourth Amendment search and seizure issues encompass a significant amount of a law enforcement officers authority. This eight-hour course will address many of these issues, including stops, arrests, searches, and the reasonable expectation of privacy, in a practical manner- focusing on the application of these legal concepts at both a patrol and investigative level. This information is designed for all Wisconsin law enforcement officers, from patrol to administrators, and is supported by content from the Wisconsin Department of Justice. The emphasis of this course is to provide all law enforcement officers the opportunity to refresh their understanding of these legal concepts, regardless of their years of experience.
