This theory course provides a content overview and update of nursing for Registered Nurses who are preparing to return to practice after an absence. The course is online, self-paced, and primarily composed of faculty-monitored, independent study modules designed to refresh the student on the curriculum covered in the Associate Degree Nursing program.
In order to complete requirements for the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing, all three components of the RN Refresher course must be completed. The three courses include RN Refresher-Theory, RN Refresher-Skills, and RN Refresher-Clinical. These courses must be completed in sequential order and within one year of the start of the RN Refresher-Theory course.
Students may enroll in the next sequential course immediately upon completion of the former course, without waiting for the next academic term.
Students registering for a fall start date must complete the three courses by the end of the summer term of the following year. Students registering for a spring start date must complete the three courses by the end of the fall term of that year.
