MSHA New Miner Training

ID : 23628
« back to classes page
Meet the mandatory training requirements for new miners or on-site employees of independent contractors who are working at surface mines.  Our training meets the expectations and compliance requirements of MSHA.  Federal law requires that all miners receive basic training, as a part of a mine operators' effective training plan. Our course will provide the materials, guidance, and hands-on assistance to help miners meet their training obligations and more.

Employees will be able to:
  • Explain lines of authority and responsibilities
  • Explain rules and procedures for reporting hazards
  • Demonstrate use, care and maintenance of fire-fighting and respiratory equipment
  • Explain and demonstrate first aid methods

Please note:  The company must provide the trainer with a current annual MSHA training plan 2 weeks in advance of the course start date, per MSHA regulations.  If a training plan does not exist, the trainer will develop one with the company prior to the course, for a fee.
